Thank you all for your help, I'll post an update once the game is re-installed and I've tested it. Turned read-only off so hopefully that'll do something.įinally here is the pastebin of the KSP.log file: How? At this point I don't know, nothing makes sense. However, I checked to make sure and the folder was set to read-only. strask is right that my games seems to be able to write to the folders, as the game is making the saves, it just isn't able to read them afterwards. I've also moved all my saves out of the saves folder, we'll see what that does if I make a new one. Since the problem is linked to permissions, would adding a directory on another drive and installing to there be any help? My instinct says no but I'd be willing to try it.

I followed your direction and made a second Steam library folder, but the Steam won't let me install to it because it's on the same drive as my user (Which is also the Admin). Hey all (a special hello to Wumpus, happy thanksgiving), just a quick update while my game's reinstalling. Anyone else have this problem? Any thoughts, or fixes? Thanks! I would like to be able to play my saves. Rebooting the game, my computer, verfiying the files, etc., has not fixed this. Even creating a new game, imediately quiting to menu, and then going resume game (never exiting KSP) gives me no worlds. Tutorials/scenarios work in both 32 and 64. It boots fine, can play fine, but no listed saves.

I think, oh no! Maybe the 64 bit version doesn't keep saves! I look it up online, find I should be able to see all my saves in 64 just fine, look at my save folder, all the files are there, old and new, nothings missing, persitance files look fine, etc. I start a new world, design a new aircraft, enjoy KSP, etc., save and shut it down for tonight.Įnter today, I start up the 64 bit version again (still thinking it has its own save directory) and low and behold. No problem, I think, it's probably cause I booted it in 64 it uses a different save directory (I now know it doesn't), and besides, my old worlds were crowded anyways. Game started up fine, no problem, went to resume game, there are no saves listed, the box is just empty. Upon start up I saw the option to launch a 64 bit version of the game and thought, why not, maybe it'll run smoother. After hearing there had been a new update semi-recently (again, long time) I decided to hop on and see what had changed. I'm a long time KSP player, but haven't played KSP for a long time. I'm not sure if this is the right place to report this as every game's discussion sections are set up differently, but I'm encountering a weird bug that I couldn't find a solution to online.
